The countdown is ON to the best day of the year—and everything you need to know to bring the Bookjoy is right here. Your Kick-off Kit arrives a few weeks before the Fair begins, but feel free to get a jump-start on your planning at any time. Get ready to roll!

Build Your Team

Teamwork makes the dream work! Recruit a co-host and volunteers to help before, during, and after the Fair. Reach out to your parent council or teachers for helpers, and don’t forget to invite older students to be part of the team, too!

Volunteers can help you:

• Set up the Fair: Extra hands make Fair setup faster and easier by helping to arrange cases, unpack boxes, hang signs, and more!
• Decorate: Want to add extra décor to your Fair? Ask your school’s art classes to pitch in alongside adult volunteers.
• Ring up purchases: Whether running cards or counting coins, volunteers trained on the wireless device keep checkout running smoothly.
• Help kids shop: Volunteers can steer little readers to the appropriate cases, help them make their wish lists, and do the math on their purchases.

Customize & Share Your Fair Homepage

With just a few clicks, you can customize your Fair homepage to promote your event and keep your school community informed!

• Set your book sales goal to show families what you’re working toward and encourage their support.
• Add key dates like your Family Night to keep everyone in the loop.
• Customize messages to share updates and build excitement.

Spread the Word

• Share your school’s Fair homepage with families and teachers.
• Personalize and send the letter from your principal.
• Post save-the-date announcements in your school’s social media channels and newsletter.
• Hang signs around campus and update your school marquee.

Plan Previews, Activities, and Events

Get everybody geared up to shop the Fair when you prep sneak peeks, family events, and special activities. 

• Share the NEW Fair Showcase* (COMING SOON), book blurbs, and book trailers to get kids psyched for the Fair.
• Reserve time for teachers to preview the Fair, create wish lists, and shop with their teacher coupons*.
• Plan community-wide activities and family events to ramp up excitement.

When the Book Fair comes to your school, you’ll have the power to share the joy of reading with every kid.

Every purchase at the Fair helps earn your school rewards. When you earn at least $2,000, you can decide whether you want to receive your proceeds as cash or Scholastic Dollars, our rewards currency. When you choose to receive Scholastic Dollars over cash, you’ll get DOUBLE the rewards–meaning you’ll have more proceeds to buy books for your students.
