International Rights Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am a translator. Can I translate one of your titles into my language?
A: We only license translation rights to established international publishers who are then responsible for hiring a translator. We do not license to individuals, only accredited publishing houses.

Q: How can I tell if translation rights are available for a title?
A: Each book page within the section features a “Rights Sold” list on the bottom of the page. It indicates which languages have already been licensed. Any other languages/rights remain available.

Q: How can I get rights for Geronimo Stilton, The Hunger Games, Tom Gates, and other popular titles?
A: Scholastic Canada distributes many titles for which our international affiliates or other publishers hold rights. Click here for a list of popular titles/series and the corresponding contacts for rights.

Q: Can I purchase books for export?
A: Titles for which Scholastic Canada holds the rights can be exported to institutional and retail clients in other countries, but some restrictions apply. All retail clients, international schools and educational distributors must set up an account prior to ordering. Please email to receive the appropriate forms and to confirm the export status of the titles you are interested in.
