MONIQUE POLAK is the author of thirty books including novels, non-fiction and board books. Her book Hate Mail, Room for One More, and the novel What World Is Left, inspired by her mother’s experience during the Holocaust, were winners of the Quebec Writers’ Federation Prize for Children’s and YA Literature. Her books have been nominated for many awards, including the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People. Monique is also a freelance newspaper journalist and a radio columnist. Monique lives in Montreal, where she teaches at Marianopolis College.
