Where did you draw inspiration from?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The joy of exploring emotions, the satisfaction of problem-solving, and the connection a visual can forge with your audience along the way. Visuals can tell stories in a way that words alone cannot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What did you enjoy most about illustrating it? What were some challenges that you faced while illustrating?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I enjoy understanding the story, audience, and what resonates, but also staying true to my own artistic vision. The joy in this process often comes not just from the final product but from the journey of creation itself. Sometimes the challenge is to create the visual that can communicate all that is needed to evoke the needed emotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What books inspired you and your illustrations while growing up?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Jungle Book, Calvin and Hobbes,<\/em> the artwork of&nbsp;Victor Ambrus, and the artwork of Ronald Searle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do you come up with the characters\u2019 illustrations?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I ask myself who this character is, what is their personality, what would this character&#8217;s likes and dislikes be? I take inspiration from everyday life and people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s your illustration process look like?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I start with doodles and line sketches. Then I start shaping up the final lines for the character and illustration.&nbsp;I&#8217;ll create a rough mood board, then start the final colour process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s next for you?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently I am illustrating a super fun children&#8217;s book about bugs. I can&#8217;t wait for it to be published&nbsp;and share&nbsp;it with everyone. Soon I will start sketching on a chapter book series full of time travel, adventure, and history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What piece of advice would you share with young readers?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t give up even if your drawings are not what you envisioned. Always tap in and remember what you enjoy in the process of illustrating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:4px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why do you think reading is so important?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Reading allows&nbsp;us to explore different&nbsp;worlds and lives.
